St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum)

Proven Herbal Mood Enhancer

St. John's Wort has been called a "mood enhancer" in traditional medicine, and modern research has verified the validity of this claim.

St. John's Wort, along with L-5-HTP,  are two of the most well-proven antidepressants. Over 1,500 patients in 25 double-blind studies have shown

St. John's Wort to be as effective as antidepressant drugs for treating:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • sleep disturbance
  • anorexia
  • apathy
  • feelings of worthlessness

Although the therapeutic outcome is similar between St. John's Wort and antidepressants, the safety profile, cost, and patient satisfaction were rated consistently higher for St. John's Wort.

Another lesser-discussed but proven effect of St. John's Wort is its anti-viral and skin-healing properties.


St. John’s Wort Plus+ Mood & Memory Formula

St. John’s Wort Plus+ provides all the benefits of St. John’s Wort (see above) with the added benefits of Ginkgo biloba and Siberian ginseng.

For mood disorder in women, St. John’s Wort is the herb of choice. The added benefits of ginkgo and ginseng are synergistic with St. John’s Wort for all users, and especially for women over the age of 50.

Suggested dose: 1 cap, 2-3 times per day. [Target dose of hypericum: 600-900 mg per day]. Use EITHER St. John’s Wort Plus+ or L-5-HTP at the recommended dose for 8 weeks.
